PARENT-CHILD COMMUNICATIONS

LETTERS & EMAIL

  • Letter writing is the best way for you to communicate.  Children will be required to write at least three times a week.  We suggest parents write frequently.  We also recommend that parents provide campers with self-addressed stamped envelopes or post cards.  Loose stamps are easily misplaced.
  • Send email to your child at: mail@campbaco.com; mail@campchenawah.com (this service is  free of charge – we accept text only email – we do not accept email with attachments). Put your child’s name in the “SUBJECT” area.  We will print and distribute e-mails along with our regular mail each day.   (Campers are not able to send e-mails from camp).
  • BUNK1 REPLIES: Handwritten notes from your camper, sent to your email address (a way to communicate by email – requires a subscription with Bunk1.com – and is optional).  To download additional information and instructions click here.
  • BUNK1 EMAIL: Send enhanced email to your camper using Bunk1.com (requires a subscription with Bunk1.com – and is optional).  To download additional information and instructions click here.

FAX SERVICE

  • 518-251-3060 is available into and out of our camp office for business purposes only.  We will NOT distribute personal FAXES to campers or staff.

PHONE CALLS

  • If you wish to speak to your child on the phone, call the camp office (Baco 518-251-2919  CNW 518-251-3129) on or after June 22nd @ 12:00 p.m. to schedule an appointment for your child to return your call during a specified non-activity hour (camper phone calls will begin July 2nd).  If a camper wants to call home, he/she must get permission from either Bob or Barbara.  Campers are not allowed to use the phone without permission.   We recommend approximately 1 phone call every 2 weeks … but no more than 1 phone call a week.  (please allow 10-15 minutes extra time for all phone appointments in the event we are running a little late).  Please select one of the following options when you make your first phone appointment:
  • A)  Campers will use phones in the office that will permit 1-800, collect, or credit card calls only (you will provide us with details or calling card).
  • B)  Campers will use phones in the office that dial direct to your per-instructed number.  This option costs $15.00.  You can pay by credit card or check, payable to camp.

PACKAGES

  • Packages must NOT be larger than 12″x12″x12″.  There is a limit of ONE package containing food per child for the summer. Packages will be opened and checked in the office.  Any package that exceeds the above stated limits will be returned to the sender. Any food found in cabins that is not sealed and properly stored, will be discarded by our staff.  It is your responsibility to discuss this policy with your child, before the summer begins, and also to alert your relatives and friends.  We feel confident you understand, and will cooperate with these requests, and we thank you in advance for your assistance.
