The first thing that comes to mind for this one is the trick of turning your pillow case inside out to put the case on your pillow easier. Although this may seem like a small, funny thing to think of, it is just a microcosm of the simple things you learn at camp that you will use later in life.

What would you say is a magical moment in camp?
The most magical moment each summer to me is at the beginning of the relay during olympics. For about a minute the whole entire camp is silent for the only time all summer. You could seriously hear a pin drop. Everyone is anxious and nervous, even the counselors not competing. It seems like it takes forever, but the ringing of the bell finally breaks the silence and true electricity is in the air. It never fails to give me goosebumps.
What is your favorite camp tradition?
I think I have two favorite camp traditions. This is an especially hard one considering this camp is built on traditions. One would have to be all of us gathering for council ring twice each day. Being together never ceases to amaze me and I love hearing the news of the day. Another is the last night of camp when each waiter walks through each bunk and says goodbye to every single camper and counselor. It really helps incapsulate not only their incredible impact on the camp/summer, but also the small/random/intricate connections made between the most random of people; whether that be a waiter and a counselor three years older or a waiter and a fun house kid.
What is 1 item you would not want to forget to pack this summer?
Not everyone believes in this concept, but I am a true believer in having a little mat or rug in your area by your bedside. I think it is a nice way to keep your area clean and allows for you to make it a little more homey.

Every summer, watching the waiters run into the crib after the relay is awesome. But being able to do it yourself is truly magical.
