Summer ’19 has been truly amazing. We can not believe that in a few short days, we will be stepping off of the buses and heading back home.

We always like to prep parents on how to manage the children that might suffer from “camp sickness” after camp.

We’ve been busy all year planning and counting down the days, and now we are in the final home stretch.

Your 6 or 7 year old might be asking about sleep away camp this summer, and you’re torn. How can you tell if your child is ready for the camp experience? First, are you ready as a parent to let your child go? It’s difficult to get a hard and fast age, because every child is different. A lot has to do with your child’s expectations. What their expectations are can help you decide if they understand what camp is all about, and if they’re ready to go. Hey Campers and Staff:

I miss everybody!!! We’ve been back home for exactly one month now and school is in full swing. It’s a perfect time to recap what a great time you had at camp during summer 2018. This way, when you are feeling ‘campsick,’ you can think back to these top choices and smile knowing that the countdown is on to next summer.

Picture this: the year is 2007. What a crazy year. Two unlikely characters get off the bus at Camp CNW. Armed with bob haircuts, chipmunk cheeks, and food boxes too big to fit under the bed, we seamlessly became part of the CNW legacy. Twelve years later, we can proudly say that we are giving that legacy back to each and every one of you. Of course, now you all carry fidget spinners and have unfortunately experienced the new food box size regulations. Writing this toast has allowed us to reflect on the impact that CNW has left on us and vice versa. Honestly, we don’t need to tell you all how much we love and dream of this place.

Over the hills and far away there’s an oasis hidden in the mountains where people gather in a circle twice a day before eating, and where they sleep under the stars in wooden huts. Where the rain patter sings on the aluminum tin roofs as you sleep and where kids drink hot chocolate with marshmallows before breakfast time.

If your child gets off the bus showing a variety of symptoms that you’ve never seen before, they might be campsick. Do they feel the incredible desire to be back at camp? Have they not stopped telling camp stories? Do they try in every way to incorporate camp life into the “real world” Don’t fight it… embrace it! Here are some helpful tips to help make your campsick child’s transition back to the real world a little easier.

The 2018 swim meet was very exciting, and with bunks 4-18 participating, you could tell it was going to be eventful. Although it was a little cold in the morning, everyone was anxious to start swimming. The Point O’Pines lake was divided into different lanes for swimmers. In the back of all the lanes there was a larger version of the ‘rock’ at Che-Na-Wah floating on the lake. When people got out of the lake, the most common thing to be heard was “The lake is unreasonably warm but freezing when you get out.”
